Proteas batter Quinton de Kock says Proteas will try their best to avoid playing in the World Cup qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, as they gear up for a crucial ODI series against the Netherlands. South Africa will take on the Dutch in a 2-match ODI series, starting on Friday at Willowmore Stadium in Benoni, and the final match will be a Pink day outing on Sunday at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
South Africa need to win both matches in order to give themselves a great chance of booking their ticket to India. The two wins will probably guarantee their place in the World Cup, but it will also be determined by Irelands performance in their ODI series against Bangladesh in May. The Irish will need to win all 3 matches to leapfrog South Africa and qualify for the ICC World Cup.
Quinton de Kock says he will try his best to wrap up qualification in the Dutch series, and avoid the dreaded World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe.
