President Cyril Ramaphosa has admitted that they have had challenges with the Johnson & Johnson produced COVID-19 vaccine.

Speaking in UK during the sitting of the G7 meeting, Ramaphosa says the US Food and Drug Administration has found that two-million COVID-19 J&J vaccine doses in the country are unsuitable for use.

The doses are currently awaiting distribution from the Aspen Pharma plant in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, and following the news, they are now set to be destroyed.

Ramaphosa says this is a major negative effect on the health department’s roll-out plan.
