On good governance and ethical and developmental state, Zikalala saysthe issue of corruption, fraud and struggling economy are also high on governments to do list for 2021.

“We are united in ensuring that all persons charged with handling public resources are held to the highest ethical standards. KwaZulu-Natal is the first province to go public and become transparent about our expenditure of the PPE procurement.  We disclosed who benefited, how much and the ownership of the companies,” says Zikalala.

Zikalala has expressed his gratitude about the progress made during the phase one of vaccine rollout in the province.

10 800 batch of vaccines has been given to this province from the total of 80 000 doses that the country received last week.

Zikalala says he is pleased that a large number of health workers are registered to be vaccinated during this phase.

Earlier this week Stats SA announced that the unemployment rate has increased by 1.7% to 32.5%.

In addressing this, the Premier says the provincial government will establish the war room on jobs creation chaired by himself to monitor and oversee the implementation of job creation projects.
