Zikalala says this during the launch of 5G network in Umlazi, south of Durban.

The launch is part of the extension of the super fast fifth generation digital capacity to include underprivileged and poor areas, and to bring residents of the province into the latest wave of technology.

The areas to benefit first from this roll-out include eThekwini , Pietermaritzburg, Richards Bay, Howick, Ntuzuma, KwaMashu and Umlazi.

Zikalala says they hope that this will contribute to skills development and also unlock more opportunities for SMMEs.
