Research by the Automobile Association has found that more than 90 per cent of South Africans are keeping their vehicles for longer due to the current economy.
Although more than 60 per cent of the respondents say they have insurance, national data points to a much lower rate of 35 per cent.
The AA’s, Layton Beard, says if this is indeed the case, there is a cause for concern, as insurance is part of a good maintenance plan for any car.
