A relative has appeared in court for the murder of 6-year-old Alexia

A suspect has appeared in Umhlali Magistrates Court north of the province for murder of 6-year-old girl whose body was found in sugarcane fields in Riet Valley.
Police spokesperson, Jay Naicker, says the 42 year old woman has been charged for murder, defeating the ends of justice, kidnapping and perjury.
The woman had reported that the grade one leaner was allegedly snatched from her car at a speed-hump on the Glendale Road in Shayamoya near Shakaskraal over the weekend.
She has been remanded in custody until her next court date which is 10 June.
