South African motorists will see a decrease in petrol prices as of today, but diesel is set for yet another increase.

According to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, the petrol price for 93- and 95-octane will be cut by 12-cents a litre, while diesel will be increased by 98-cents.

The department says paraffin users will also be affected, with the price increasing by 79.6-cents per litre.

The Energy Department’s Robert Maake says the diesel price increase has been attributed to sanctions against Russia following that country’s latest conflict with Ukraine
