AG Addresses Non-Compliance in Government Procurement Processes

Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke says the effects of non-compliance in the procurement processes at government departments, has affected the distribution of COVID-19 funds.

She is today briefing media on the audit of COVID-19 relief funds.

Maluleke has revealed that many of the initiatives by e government since the start of the pandemic have been clouded by a lack of credible financial information and performance records.

She says better systems and processes should be implemented at government departments across the country, to ensure better compliance.

Maluleke says the report also notes problems in following competitive processes for awarding government contracts for buying PPEs.
