All Eyes on Mapisa-Nqakula Ahead of Motion of No Confidence

National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, says she is applying her mind afresh to the motivation of the African Transformation Movement (ATM) for a secret ballot in a motion of no-confidence against president Cyril Ramaphosa.

The party resubmitted its request for the motion.

This comes after the Supreme Court of Appeal set aside a decision by former National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise’s rejection of a request by the ATM for a secret ballot, in a motion of no confidence against Ramaphosa.

The court affirmed Mapisa-Nqakula’s powers to decide the best mode or procedure of voting.
