The Ombudsman for Banking Services in South Africa has found that fraud remains one of the biggest challenges facing the sector.
Two other matters of concern are the finalization of deceased estates and the collection of prescribed debt.
Banking Ombudsman Reana Steyn says customers are experiencing unfortunate losses mainly due to fraud.
Steyn says an investigation was carried out in all of the country’s 9 nine provinces.
