Political parties are calling on law enforcement agencies in the province. to take a more active approach in the protection of the lives of members of councils across KwaZulu-Natal.

This follows yet another killing of a politician in the province.

The IFP’s Amajuba District Speaker Reginald Bhekumndeni Ndima was gunned down outside his home yesterday.

This is the second brutal killing of a Councillor this month alone, as the ANC’s Minenhle Mkhize from ward 103 in eThekwini Municipality was shot several times also outside of his home.

Meanwhile, IFP Spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa has also expressed its concerns around what it calls the scourge of political killings in KZN.

ANC Chairperson in this province Sihle Zikalala says the ruling party is dying because of of its members who are in the organisation for positions.

Zikalala has been addressing mourners at the funeral service of the recently slain eThekwini ward 103 Councillor  Mkhize, in Richmond, in the midlands.

Zikalala says the ANC is dying because over ambitious members who are only in the movement for positions.
