KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development and Tourism MEC Ravi Pillay says he’s confident that the Africa Travel Indaba will be a major boost to the South African economy.

The conference hosted in Durban is expected to be attended by thousands of African travel entrepreneurs and investors. It showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international buyers and media from across the world.

The conference is set to to take place from today, 03 May to the 05th of May.

Although the province recently suffered a huge devastation due to the floods, Pillay says KZN has a potential to bring back hope to the province.

Tourism KZN Acting CEO, Phindile Kwakwa, has urged KZN entreprenuers to keep their heads up following the devastation of most businesses in the province due to floods.

The tourism industry has also seen a slow two years as the world has been grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, which halted and put strict restrictions on travel.

Kwakwa says the Tourism KZN office is open to asssist entreprenuers overcome these challenges.
