Analysis: Zuma May Face Contempt Charges, Again

Legal Expert, Mpumelelo Zikalala, says former president Jacob Zuma may be charged again with contempt of court for refusing to be examined by National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) appointed doctors.
According to his foundation, Zuma refused to be examined by the NPA appointed doctors citing he is tired of his claims of ill health being treated with distrust.
Last month, Pietermaritzburg High court Judge Piet Koen ordered that the State might grant a medical practitioner of its choice to examine Zuma to assess his ability to stand trial for corruption and for that doctor to be a witness, if necessary.
Zuma was hospitalised earlier last month, while serving a 15-month jail term for defying a Constitutional Court ruling that he appear before the State Capture Inquiry.
The apex court is expected to rule on his application for a rescission rescission that judgment in the coming days.
Zikalala says the NPA may argue that Zuma has again defy a court order.
