ANC Chief Whip, Pemmy Majodina says they expected the party’s MP Mervyn Dirks to use internal processes before writing a letter to the National Assembly’s Select Committee on Public Accounts calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa to answer to allegations of the misappropriation of state funds.

Majodina, instructed Dirks to withdraw the letter he had written requesting it to investigate Ramaphosa for what Dirks described as the president’s failure to inform the Zondo Commission about corruption within the ANC.

When Dirks failed to withdraw the letter, Majodina then sent him a notice of suspension as an ANC MP.

Dirks then approached the high court in Cape Town in an urgent basis in a bid to be reinstated to his parliamentary positions.

He also wanted the court to declare his suspension from his positions in the ANC caucus unlawful, unconstitutional, null and void.

However, the Western Cape High Court struck off the roll his urgent application.

Majodina says Dirks acted in an unbecoming manner with his letter to Scopa.
