The ANC has confirmed the suspension of the disbanded MKMVA Spokesperson, Carl Niehaus.

It says this follows inflamatory statements he uttered over the weekend at former President Jacob Zuma’s homestead in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal.

Niehaus said that Zuma is a victim of a selective justice war, adding that that violence will be inevitable if the former president doesn’t get justice.

Last week, the Constitutional Court sentenced Zuma to 15 months imprisonment for contempt of court, after failing to comply with its order forcing him to appear before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry.

ANC Spokesperson, Pule Mabe, says the National Executive Committee (NEC) has resolved that such conduct constitute acts of misconduct in accordance to the party’s constitution and warrants disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, Niehaus has confirmed that he will be appealing his temporary suspension by the ANC.

Niehaus together with MKMVA soldiers have been camping in Nkandla since last week, publicly declaring their support for Zuma.

He says he remains a dedicated liberation fighter.
