The Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga has postponed the fraud and corruption case against the former State Security minister Bongani Bongo along with his eleven co-accused.

The postponement of this two year case comes after one of the accused changed legal representative, and the other lawyer failed to appear in court.

The case emanated in 2020, is in connection with an alleged land deal of R37.5 million dating back to 2011.

Bongo still maintains that he is not guilty.

In another case, Bongo was last year found not guilty of trying to bribe a Parliamentary Eskom Inquiry Evidence leader by the Western Cape High Court.

He threatened to sue the state and those who testified against him.
