The Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa says cooking oil prices will remain high for some time.
Indonesia has become the latest country to ban the exports of palm oil.
This export ban also happens when the Black Sea region, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of the sunflower oil, is also constrained.
The chamber’s Wandile Sihlobo has told the eNCA that a ban on exports of a key supplier will disrupt palm oil supplies in South Africa in the coming months.
