The African Transformation Movement (ATM) is calling for the suspension of the Section 194 inquiry until the allegations of corruption and extortion are properly dealt with.
Suspended Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, has released audio clips to back up her claims that the late Tina Joematt-Pettersson, Pemmy Majodina, and the inquiry’s chairperson Richard Dyanti tried to solicit a R600 000 bribe from her to make the inquiry disappear.
The inquiry is investigating Mkhwebane’s fitness to hold office.
ATM’s spokesperson, Zama Ntshona, says these allegations point to a bleak state of affairs in the country.
