Ethekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says over 60 houses are being built in 9 wards for people affected by floods in the city.

Kaunda has been briefing media in Molweni on the progress the city is making in restoring services.

More than 17 000 households were affected by the disaster while 121 687 people were affected, and 435 people lost their lives.

To date, 60 people are still reported missing, with a total of 6 278 currently homeless, and 55 injured.

Kaunda says there are also temporary units being contructed in Molweni, iNanda and KwaMakhutha.
