Black Business Forums Engage with Ramaphosa on Vaccine Rollout Opportunities

ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, says Black businesses should take part in the rolling out of the COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
Ramaphosa had been speaking during a conversation with Black business representatives.
Government is in the process of developing an electronic vaccination data system to assist with the roll out of COVID-19 vaccines across the country.
The first batch of 1.5 million doses is scheduled to arrive at the end January and at the beginning of February, the vaccine is being manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
Ramaphosa says distribution is going to be the area where there will be opportunities.

Meanwhile the South African United Business Council President, George Sebulela, says government must not repeat the same mistake it had with the distribution of PPE’s in the country.

Women and young people leaders say they are concerned that government does not include them in the country’s decision making structures.
African Women Chartered Accounted Forum representative, Zama Khanyile, says coordination will be key in distributing COVID 19 vaccine.

Youth In Business South Africa, Secretary general Bright Hlongwane, further says young people need opportunities and resources to ensure that they maximise the opportunities brought by this pandemic.
