Bongiwe Msomi believes every player was given fair chance before final squad selection

Spar Proteas captain Bongiwe Msomi believes every player was given a fair chance to prove themselves before the final squad selection for the Vitality Netball World Cup. Coach Norma Plummer announced her final 12-player squad, with 3 reserve players, for the showpiece event set to take place from 28 July – 6 August at the Cape Town ICC. The announcement came shortly after the conclusion of the Telkom Netball league and overseas based leagues with the players now available for the World Cup. Bongiwe Msomi will lead the team as captain with Karla Pretorius serving as the vice captainof the team. The Spar Proteas will be in Pool C alongside Jamaica, Sri Lanka and Wales, a side they will face in their tournament.

The team will meet on the 14 July 2023 for the final training camp before Netball World Cup. Msomi believes all the 15 players were given a fair chance to prove themselves from the various training camps, and final 12 players selected are deserving of their spots.
