Nineteen years after her death Brenda Fassie is still pretty much alive in the hearts of many South Africans – even those who may not have been born at the time of her death.
“Madonna of the Townships,” as she is often called, had a brilliant music career until her death. At the time of her death, she had a son called Bongani, who continues her push her legacy to this day. It is on record that she wanted more children and even went sperm donor hunting at some point.
All that are in the past now, as her odyssey on earth has come to an end. But she achieved so much before her death that there is so much to remember her by almost two decades later. In a recent post online, South African Classic Music gave snippets into her life and death, affirming that she is still loved many years after. The reactions to the post indicated the claim was indeed correct. Many South Africans are still enamoured of the singer.

Kwaito Legend Arthur Mafokate expresses a desire to educate others on protecting a nation’s brand, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting the positive aspects of South Africa.
He then expressed his emotions on the late Brenda Fassie, and Mzansi reacted to the message he shared on Facebook. South African Classic Music wrote: “The king of Kwaito music Arthur Mafokate remembers the late Brenda Fassie, he says Me and Brenda Fassie in London as I was trying to teach her the Twalatza dance! The Bafana Bafana jersey was the thing. The SA flag was part of everyone’s travel items when travelling overseas, and I dream of such moments to return. As it stands, we are our own enemies in sending wrong messages about our country when in fact we have such a beautiful country. How I wish I could do classes about how to protect the Brand of a country. May Brenda Fassie continue to rest in peace ❤️❤️ loved and missed always.
Fans were moved by the Kwaito star’s words, commenting:
Thozamile Mbobo said: “You are telling the Truth Arthur; wherever I was in a foreign country I used to walk tall due to the great Reputation Mzansi had back then, not anymore.”
