Broos impressed by Thapelo Maseko

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has heaped praise on Supersport United forward Thapelo Maseko after selecting him in the 23-man Bafana Bafana squad that will face Morocco in their final AFCON qualifier on 17 June 2023. Broos says he was impressed by the 19 year old in Bafana’s latest training camp before the final squad selection. Maseko had a decent return in past season with Matsatsantsa, scoring four goals and getting 2 assists in 24 DSTV Premiership appearances. His exploits saw him get nominated for the DSTV Young player of the season award, and got his first call up to the national team.
Broos says he’s been watching Maseko in the colours of Supersport United this season but was furthur impressed by the younster at the Bafana camp.
