Calls for the Relaxation of COVID-19 Workplace Regulations

Business Leadership South Africa (BUSA) says the time has come to review Covid-19 restrictions at workplaces.
Busa CEO Busi Mavuso says restrictions were relaxed at the end of December in the country, but have not yet been relaxed for workplaces.
She says by not adjusting regulations for workplaces, it is leaving many companies unable to resume normal operations.
Many companies are now asking staff to come back to work.
Mavuso says South Africa does not have the luxury of fiscal room to continue to absorb economic losses, adding that companies should be free to choose whether to require employees on-site or not.
