Cape Chamber of Commerce survey paints chaotic picture of the UIF temporary relief fund
Written by Lethiwe Mdluli on 5 June, 2020
A survey by the Cape Chamber of Industry and Commerce on the experiences of small and micro businesses who approached the government for relief paints a bleak picture of the UIF-Temporary aid insurance schemes distribution.
The findings represent opinion from more than 55 different business types, ranging from agriculture to financial services and manufacturing.
The president of the Chamber, Geoff Jacobs, says only slightly more than ten percent of those applying for relief, received the full amount they applied for.
