Cele Gives Update on UMlazi Killings

Police Minister Bheki Cele says one of the six men that were killed at uMlazi recently, was a hardcore criminal with murder cases.
Speaking following his visit in uMlazi, Cele says the man had just come out of prison the same day he was killed along with his friends as they gathered to celebrate his return.
The minister’s visit follows the murder of six people being shot dead in the Zamani informal settlement over the weekend, followed by the shooting of another five people, who were shot and killed on Tuesday night.
Cele says the police are on the heels of the suspects.

Cele adds that it is concerning that women and children find themselves becoming victims of murder crimes continuously in this country.
He says most of the victims were sought by police because of investigations against them.
