Cele promises to be tough on those who break the law

Police minister, Bheki Cele, says he’s concerned that some businesses are breaking lockdown regulations and exposing their patrons to Covid-19.
Cele had been briefing media on law enforcement plans for lockdown level-1 in Pretoria.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, more than 310 000 people have been arrested and charged with contraventions of the Disaster Management Act.
Cele says police have come across several shebeens and taverns that were operating beyond the curfew hours.

The minister has also urged communities to be considerate when hosting social gatherings in residential areas.
