The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal is investigating allegations of a supposed R5 million business breakfast that was held in Durban.

Zululand District Municipality Mayor, Thulasizwe Buthelezi says the investigation is a political stunt to undermine the work of the IFP-led municipality.

According to ANC youth leader, Lindokuhle Xulu, an estimated R5 million was spent and the event had been advertised before the council could approve it.

Speaking to Gagasi Fm News, Cogta MEC Sipho Hlomuka says they will get to bottom of this matter.
