Compensation Fund Under the Microscope

Employment and Labour minister, Thulas Nxesi, says his department is committed in conducting oversite at the Compensation Fund.
Nxesi has appeared before parliament’s standing committee on public accounts.
In the 2019/20 financial year the fund recorded yet another disclaimer of audit opinion, bringing to 8 and 2 adverse audit opinions in a decade.
At the sitting, the committee ordered the minister to undertake the performance assessment of Compensation Fund’s commissioner Vuyo Mafata and Employment and Labour Department Director-Deneral Thobile Lamati, who oversee the fund.
Nxesi says the entity cannot continue to have disclaimer after disclaimer.
