The Congress of South African Students says it wants teachers to take mandatory psychology classes while in varsity so they are equipped to read behavioral patterns in pupils.
Cosas held a press briefing in Luthuli House to address the recent spate of school violence.
This comes after two pupils that were stabbed and killed by fellow learners in Gauteng and the Western Cape on Monday.
The organisation’s deputy secretary-general, Xola Booi, says some of these cases are due to behavioral patterns that have gone unnoticed.
