Cosatu Says Nersa’s Approval Of Tariff Increase Is Reckless

The Congress Of south African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has criticized the National Energy Regulator (Nersa)’s decision to grant Eskom an above-inflation increase.
Nersa recently announced that it has granted Eskom a 18.5 percent tariff hike.
The increase will come into effect from the first of April this year.
Cosatu spokesperson, Sizwe Pamla, says this is bad news for South Africa’s over-burdened consumers.
