Counting underway at voting stations

Only 16.6 % of the over 1500 voting districts in the country have completely finished counting so far, and over 2 million votes have been counted so far.
Results have been trickling in overnight, and current data shows that the ANC is enjoying an early lead nationally.
The IEC’s latest update shows that the ANC is leading with over a million voter support nationally.
The party is followed by the DA with over 500 000 votes and the EFF with over 150 000 votes.
According to the data so far the voter turnout was at 64.84 % with total vote cast sitting at 504 717.
In terms of the provincial government breakdown, in KZN, 7.1 % voting districts have completed their counting and the ANC is leading with 53.74 %, the IFP with 22.35 % and the DA with 12.15 %.
