The legal team of suspended ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule says Magashule’s suspension was motivated by factionalism within the ruling party.
Magashule is applying for leave to appeal the court’s earlier decision in favour of the ANC, at the South Gauteng High Court, in Johannesburg.
The party decided all leaders implicated in wrongdoing and corruption must step aside from their roles.
Advocate Dali Mpufu says the application of a step-aside rule is done in a factional way.
