COVID-19 Funds Corruption Investigations Hits a Snag

The National Prosecuting Authority says the impact of COVID-19 has really slowed the pace on prosecuting corruption cases related to the Solidarity Fund.

Batohi had been giving an update on matters that relate to the alleged irregular contracts alongside the Hawks, and the Special investigating Unit.

According to the NPA, only 26% of the investigations around R3.5 billion  have been completed.

Batohi has highlighted that because of the pandemic, they haven’t been able to recruit and are don’t have enough resources.
