ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, says the COVID-19 pandemic has uprooted deep divisions and inequalities in society.

He has been addressing the South African Communist Party’s (SACP) celebration of 100 years of existence, held virtually.

Ramaphosa has also acknowledged the devastating impact the pandemic has had on the working class, especially the poor, in country, adding that the pandemic has deepened unemployment.

He says the social, political and economic conditions that make this pandemic possible are precisely the conditions that the SACP has dedicated its existence to overcoming.
