COVID-19 Results Compulsory at Border Posts
Written by Mfundo on 5 January, 2021
Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi says only people with proof of COVID-19 certificates are allowed to cross at borders posts and ports of entry.
Motsoaledi says those who came with no COVID-19 certificates were given a repeat antigen test at the border and if it was found positive, they were sent back.
During his visit to the Beitbridge Border Post over the weekend, the minister warned those seeking to enter South Africa with fraudulent negative COVID-19 test results, saying they are undermining South Africa’s sovereignty and will be dealt with.
He says the government cannot receive people in South Africa in need of medical help.
