Crime and violence in major cities analysed

SA Cities Network says national crime trends play a role in what happens in cities.

The network has released its State of Crime and Safety report.

The report looked at the state of crime and violence in nine of the country’s major cities: Johannesburg, Cape Town, eThekwini, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Nelson Mandela Bay, Mangaung, Buffalo City and Msunduzi, which includes Pietermaritzburg.

The network’s, Siphelele Ngobese, says reducing murder and robbery should be a top priority.
