Small Business Development Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams says she’s concerned that the excuse of “cheaper imports” is used to continue importing products into South Africa.

Ndabeni-Abrahams has been addressing delegates attending the 10th annual Proudly SA Buy Local Summit and Expo.

The Summit represents a dynamic and informative programme, including sessions on technical innovation, 4IR and job creation, and a profile of the work and benefits of SEZs,

The expo is also looking at the dynamics of running a family business and assist SMMEs on how to optimise their business opportunities with both the public and private sectors.

Ndabeni-Abrahams says the production of critical goods must be done in the country.
