DA Commends Parliament

The Democratic Alliance says Parliament is making significant progress in reducing wasteful expenditure of ministers and their deputies.

Parliament has reduced the number of taxpayer-sponsored flights for former ministers, deputy ministers, and members of Parliament from 48 to 12 trips a year.

The DA’s, Leon Schreiber, says the party’s success in clipping the wings of the ANC retirement gravy plane can save taxpayers up to R39-million a year.

He says South Africans need every cent saved and back in their pockets.
