The Democratic Alliance (DA) says the tragic murder of a German tourist earlier this month in Mpumalanga near the Kruger National Park has cast a shadow over international tourism to South Africa.
As a result, many operators and tourists canceled their trips to the country.
The DA’s Manny de Freitas says the party has warned the government that negative incidents could have greater ramifications to tourism and by extension to the economy.
