DA Says Electricity Crisis Does Not Need New Legislation

The Democratic Alliance (DA) calls on parliament to outright reject plans by President Cyril Ramaphosa’s National Energy Crisis Committee to introduce emergency legislation.
This is to supposedly override the bureaucracy that is standing in the way of addressing the country’s electricity crisis.
The party’s Kevin Mileham says this proposed emergency legislation exposes the ANC government’s smoke-and-mirrors approach to the crisis, while the country sits in darkness.
