As South Africa goes through unprecedented times of fighting an invisible enemy, it is also witnessing unprecedented political unity as opposition has been agreeing with steps taken by government to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The Democratic Alliance has welcomed president, Cyril Ramaphosa’s, approach of a phased, risk-adjusted model of easing lockdown restrictions.
The party says this is critical for the protection of jobs and ensuring that the livelihood of millions of South Africans are saved.
DA interim leader, John Steenhuisen, says it is important that the details on the new phased approach are clear and unambiguous.
