DA wants ANC cadre deployment policy abolished.

The DA says the fight to end and abolish ANC cadre deployment has taken a significant step forward following the National Assembly’s debate and adoption of the Public Service Commission Bill.

The bill aims to regulate the Public Service Commission (PSC) and enhance its independence, ensuring that the commission can operate without undue political interference. This move comes amid growing concerns over the politicisation of public sector appointments and the impact of cadre deployment on the quality of service delivery.

The DA’s Jan de Villiers argues that an independent Public Service Commission is essential for ensuring that the public service is composed of highly qualified, professional, and merit-based appointees who are free from political influence.

De Villiers emphasised that the PSC’s role in overseeing appointments and promotions within the public service must be strengthened to ensure greater transparency and accountability.
