DA Wants to Expose Ramaphosa

The DA has called on the State Capture Commission of Inquiry to subpoena the full records of decisions made by the ANC’s deployment committee, since Cyril Ramaphosa became its chairperson in 2013.
The main opposition party says during his two days in the hot seat at the inquiry, Ramaphosa doubled down on ANC cadre deployment even though the system is the very foundation of state capture, corruption and collapsing service delivery.
When asked whether his deployment committee backed the appointment of a long list of people like Dudu Myeni, Hlaudi Motsoeneng and Brian Molefe, who have been fingered in allegations of plundering SOEs, Ramaphosa vaguely suggested that his committee was somehow ”bypassed” in these cases.
DA Member of Parliament Leon Schreiber says these records will provide solid evidence of how the ANC, under the leadership of Ramaphosa, deliberately circumvented appointment processes in the state to appoint the ANC cadres that captured the state.
At the same time, FF Plus leader Pieter Groenewald says Ramaphosa’s testimony on cadre deployment confirms what the party has been saying for years, that affirmative action is not acceptable and the only solution to get the civil service right is to make merit the only criterion for appointments.
He says the best people should be hired to do the job regardless of their skin colour.
