Media speculation that President, Cyril Ramaphosa, might soon announce the further down-scaling of the current lockdown regulations, seems to be supported by the Covid-19 numbers of the past week.

The daily statistics have shown a steady decrease, with another three-thousand-946 new infections during the past 24 hours.

The country now has a total of 572 865 cases.

260 more people have died, taking the total to 11 270.

Gauteng now has 195 820 cases, KwaZulu-Natal 102 233 and the Western Cape 100 976.

The Eastern Cape has 83-thousand-and-two reported infections, with 30 thousand and 49 reported in the Free State.
