Sekhukhune United defender Daniel Cardoso says Kaizer Chiefs cannot win titles with predominantly young players featuring in their team. The Former Amakhosi defender spoke after Sekhukhune United booked a spot in their first ever Nedbank Cup semi final, and could possibly face Chiefs in the final if they defeat Stellenbosch FC and Chiefs overcomes Orlando Pirates.
Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has made use of his young players this season with the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane, Happy Mashiane and Siyabonga Ngezana getting some valuable minutes. Cardoso left Chiefs at the end of the 2021/22 season, and was among a number of experienced players who departed Naturena.
The Johannesburg born defender believes Chiefs cannot win titles with the young players at the forefront of the team, and made reference to the reigning DSTV Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns and how they benefit from the experienced players in their squad.
