Diko Challenges Step Aside DC Findings

Suspended Presidency Spokesperson, Khusela Diko, is reportedly going to appeal the ANC DC findings.

The ANC in Gauteng has charged Diko for not disclosing her husband’s business interests to the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), and according to the new party policies on members facing charges, she is also set to step aside.

The ANC’s PEC wants her to step aside until the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) winds up its investigation over her involvement in a COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) tender procurement.

Her charges stem from findings last year, that her late husband, Inkosi Thandisizwe Diko, was illegally awarded a R125 million PPE tender by the Gauteng department of health.

Diko’s lawyer says the findings in the matter are irrational and if left unchallenged will set a devastating precedent where members will be expected to comply with rules that do not currently exist, and which include a directive to disclose a spouse’s business interests to the Provincial Office Bearers of the ANC.
