The Gagasi FM Sports presenter, Simtho Dladla can add having the biggest urban radio audience for a sports show in KZN to his accolades. Simtho Dladla is an award winning sports journalist who hosts Extra Time alongside football powerhouse Mike Makaab.
Simtho says Extra Time has gained him popularity among his growing fan base, as well as his bosses. The show has featured some big names in recent times. The likes of Bafana Bafana and Brentford midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo, K V Oostende player Andile Jali, two times Comrades marathon winner Bongmusa Mthembu, international coach, Maurico Pochettino of Tottenham and former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel. For Simtho Dladla hosting a Sports show is the culmination of his passion for sports.
Simtho Dladla completed his Diploma in Communication at Icesa before completing another Diploma in Sports Management at the Durban University of Technology. Fast forward to nine years later, in 2017 he was appointed the stations Sports Editor.
He has worked in the biggest tournaments in the Sporting Industry which include Soccer World Cup in 2010. In 2017 he had an opportunities to attend the African Cup of Nations in Gabon between January to February.
He made moves from radio to television sports broadcasting with Supersport during the AFCON. Another highlight in his career was traveling to England and Spain in October 2017 during the English Premiership/ La Liga and Uefa Champions League. He puts the success of his show down to preparation.
When he’s not ruling the airwaves, Simtho enjoys travelling, eating out and has a weakness for sneakers.
