Former Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini, is back at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, today.

She faces perjury charges for allegedly giving false evidence during a Constitutional Court inquiry into her role in the 2017 social grants crisis.

Sassa failed to find a service provider to administer social grants on time after Cash Paymaster Services’ contract expired.

Dlamini has denied intentionally giving false information to the inquiry.

State Prosecutor Advocate Jacob Serepo says Dlamini lied under oath and during the oral evidence.
