The department of Education in the KwaZulu-Natal province has received the largest portion of the provincial budget.
Finance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube has tabled the provincial budget for year 2022/23 in Pietermaritzburg.
Dube-Ncube says one of the reasons the education department has received a lion share is that KZN has the largest number of learners in the country and also to improve education and create great opportunities for learning.
The department has received R57.5 billion followed by the department of Health which got a share of R49.6 billion and Transport department receiving R12.5 billion which is the third largest.
